Life Skills / Character Building
Our primary objective is to impact the lives of youths within our community by enriching the academic status of those in our school programs, exposing them to character-building qualities that will allow these participants to embrace the philosophy of positive "core life values", and creating an affordable and accessible golf environment.
The First Tee's 9 Core Values:
Honesty, Integrity, Sportsmanship, Respect, Confidence, Responsibility, Perseverance, Courtesy and Judgment

Golf Skills
With the belief that the introduction to a new and challenging activity such as golf will afford identified youths the opportunity to develop patience, discipline, integrity, and good sportsmanship, The First Tee defines levels of proficiency through which participants can progress. At each level, described below, the children are provided with appropriate equipment, instruction, and free or reduced cost access to practice and playing facilities. The program accepts participants between the ages of 7 and 17 who have not been exposed to the game or who do not have the financial resources to learn or have access to the game on their own. This program of golf instruction serves area students, with year-round participation that includes special events and satellite programs.
